The Kennebec Valley Board of REALTORS® (KVBR) respects the privacy of people who visit KVBR.org and contact us through the site. This policy explains the information we receive, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It applies to KVBR.org. A service reached through a link from our site may have its own privacy practices.
Information we receive
If you use our contact form, we receive the first and last name, email address, phone number, preferred contact method, inquiry category, and message that you provide. You can also contact us by phone or email, in which case we receive the information you choose to share. Please do not include payment-card details, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information in the contact form.
Our website and its hosting and security services may receive ordinary technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device details, pages requested, dates and times, and error or security logs. Cookies or similar browser storage may be used to operate the site and embedded features. The mix of cookies can change as website features and service providers change; browser settings can generally be used to limit or clear cookies, though some features may then work differently.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries; provide requested information about membership, events, education, and consumer resources; operate, maintain, and protect the site; and keep records reasonably needed for those purposes. If you ask us to contact you by phone, email, or text, we may use the contact information you provide to respond in that manner. A contact-form inquiry by itself is not a request to receive unrelated promotional messages. We may send membership or event communications through separate registration or member systems according to the information and preferences supplied there.
Services and links on our site
The site displays a Facebook feed and links to Facebook. The Contact page displays a Google Map. These features may involve requests to Meta or Google and may allow those companies to collect information about your visit under their own policies. Our event calendar is displayed on KVBR.org. Membership applications, member accounts, dues, some event registrations, and a donation link lead to separate services, including KVBR's GrowthZone-powered pages; information you enter there is handled through those services and any notices shown there. Other resource links lead to independent organizations. Review a destination's privacy notice before entering information or making a payment.
We may use website hosts, email providers, and technical service providers to operate the site and handle messages. We may share information with them as needed to provide those services, with professional advisers when appropriate, or when required by law or necessary to protect rights and security. We do not describe a contact-form submission as a sale of personal information. KVBR does not control the independent data practices of linked websites and embedded providers.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to respond to the inquiry, administer the relevant relationship, maintain appropriate records, resolve disputes, and meet applicable obligations. The period depends on the information and the reason it was collected. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, but no website, email, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and requests
You may choose not to submit the contact form and contact us by phone instead. You may ask us to correct or delete information you submitted through KVBR.org, or ask how we use it, by using the contact details below. We will review requests and respond as applicable law and our recordkeeping obligations allow. To change preferences or information in a separate member or event service, use that service's available controls or contact us for assistance. You can also adjust your browser's cookie settings.
Children
KVBR.org is intended for general and professional audiences, not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information through this site, please contact us.
